Donor Appreciation: More than Just a Charity Day

Every year, the Northern Children’s Services campus blooms in color, thanks to the volunteers from the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach/Trident Realtors at the Bryn Mawr office.  Thanks to their commitment and dedication to Northern, the beautiful 6-acre campus is given a stunning transformation – one that lights up the campus for the 26 young mothers and their children, who call it home.     (more…)

17th Annual Hometown Huddle at NCS

An Incredible Opportunity from Philadelphia Eagles and the United Way. THANK YOU!

On Tuesday, October 20th, the Philadelphia Eagles and United Way stopped by Northern Children’s Services campus in Roxborough for their 17th Annual Hometown Huddle Day of Service.  During this community event, Northern Children’s Services was honored with a $20,000 Hometown Huddle grant and $5,000 NFL Play Grant.   (more…)

Dustin, a gifted former colleague I worked closely with before coming to Northern  trains youth organizers across the country to develop their critical thinking skills to affect change in structural conditions within their own communities, while also developing their own skills (many of these young people live in high-poverty and are engaged in the foster care and/or juvenile justice systems).  (more…)
