NCS this Month: New Beginnings and a Fresh Start To Spring!

A Message from our President and CEO

March 20th marked the first day of spring.  Spring represents rebirth and new beginnings and our campus is already blooming in color and beauty! For Northern, this is a particularly significant symbol this year. We are emerging from a winter that brought us many challenges, but also brought us many wonderful reminders of why we do the work that we do, and why it is so important for us to continue serving communities across Philadelphia and Chester.   SunsetBlogPost

This past month, we had the honor of interviewing three individuals – past and current clients – who have overcome great hardships and have seen remarkable success.  Each one of their stories is unique and special; however, they all tell a similar story of how a particular Northern staff member or team made a huge impact on their life because they believed in them, motivated them and told them they were worth it.  You can find all of our success stories on our website, social media platforms and upcoming e-newsletters.

As we head into April, we are very much looking forward to all of the wonderful events and celebrations that is in store for Northern, including the Week of the Young Child, Autism Awareness Month, the Philadelphia Soul Town Takeover,  our Mother’s Day Open House and our Fresh Start Drive, among many others.  Though we, too, are forced to jump hurdles and overcome challenges, we are encouraged and motivated by our incredible staff and the overwhelming support we continue to receive from donors, volunteers, the community and local organizations.  Most importantly, our children, youth and families are our greatest inspiration, constantly proving to us that no obstacle is too great.  With the right team, motivation and passion to make a difference, anything is possible.

Best,
