Donor Appreciation: More than Just a Charity Day
Every year, the Northern Children’s Services campus blooms in color, thanks to the volunteers from the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach/Trident Realtors at the Bryn Mawr office. Thanks to their commitment and dedication to Northern, the beautiful 6-acre campus is given a stunning transformation – one that lights up the campus for the 26 young mothers and their children, who call it home.
But that’s not all. In addition to their hard work as volunteers, the office also allocates monetary funds to support the organization. This year the Fox & Roach Charities donated $3,271 to Northern Children’s Services, thanks to the recommendation from the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Fox & Roach/Trident’s Bryn Mawr Office.
Longtime supporters and dedicated volunteers, Jan Schmidt and Lisa Liacouras – the Advisory Council members of the office – along with Maxine Goldberg – the manager of the office – are the reason for this enormous generosity. Each and every year, they recommend Northern for this yearly donation, which is directed towards the housing and children’s services on the campus.
Their commitment to Northern Children’s Services started when an agent at their office, Lynne Kurtz, recommended the organization for their “Charity Day” thanks to her husband, who was on Northern’s board. Even after Lynne left the office, they decided to continue to dedicate their volunteerism hours and donations to Northern Children’s Services because it made them “feel so good about helping a place that does something special for young mothers and children.”
Jan noted, “We have watched your campus improve and expand your services to a group of people who need help to survive and you offer the skills sets to help them…and a place to call home. We are pleased to give our ‘sweat equity’ on Charity Day and hope to return next October.”
On behalf of the entire Northern Children’s Services organization, we give a warm and genuine thank you to the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices realtors, who have made such a difference at Northern. Not only do they give hope to our young mothers, children, youth and families who live or stop by our campus, they also continue to lift the spirits of our staff. Their generosity and commitment to serve has not gone unnoticed and we at Northern are eternally grateful.
