Philadelphia – Northern Children’s Services (Northern) announces the appointment of Ms. Susan W. Green to Chairperson of its’ Board of Trustees.
Ms. Green joined Northern’s Board of Trustees in September 2020. Through her leadership role as a bank executive for Ally Bank, Ms. Green has a long-standing relationship with Northern and its’ programs. Now retired from Ally Bank, she is an independent consultant through SWG Consulting Services.
Ms. Green brings over 35 years of experience in the financial services arena. In this capacity she led the expansion of support for local organizations such as Northern, as well as women’s leadership and mentoring. Ms. Green supports several Fintech Accelerator and Entrepreneur programs, including two minority-based start-ups. She sits on the Alvernia University President’s Advisory Council, the Alvernia Women’s Council, participates in the Global Women in Payments organization and the University of Delaware’s Lerner School of Business.
“It’s been my professional and personal privilege to work closely with Susan over the past five plus years. Having Susan first join Northern’s Board of Trustees, and now become its’ president, is a huge honor and a tremendous win for our organization. Her leadership has been incredibly impressive since the day I met her, and her solid footprint in the capacity of board member was already made even before she was appointed Chair. All of us here at Northern are
excited about all she will accomplish in her new role. She sets a standard we all strive to emulate”, said Renata Cobbs-Fletcher, President & CEO
QUOTE FROM SUSAN: “I’m proud to assist Northern on their journey. So many of the families supported by Northern are disproportionately impacted by homelessness, violence, and financial instability. The work done by their skilled and caring team helps children and families build new skills that support positive outcomes, not just for today, but well into the future.
