May 2022 Foster Care Month Event @Northern

On May 25, 2022, in honor of annual National Foster Care Month, Northern's Adoptions Department hosted our Foster-to-Adopt event. on Northern's campus. The purpose of the event was to celebrate our foster and adoptive parents (Resource Parents) who put in the work every day, collaborate with Northern staff and stay the course of the journey until finalization occurs.

Several families joined us to share a meal and engage together to decorate flower pots and plant flower seeds in them. This activity served as a beautiful homage to each family's own growth as a unit.

The event doubled as a recruitment tool for prospective adoptive and foster parents. Several interested families attended, and they were able to connect with the Northern Adoptions & Foster Care teams to discuss the next steps This also provided these prospective parents with the real-time opportunity to see how our dedicated Resource Parents have impacted the children who have become a part of their families.
